Drained Noodles at Campus

Next door to the restaurant selling Ramen. Drained noodles are everywhere in Hong Kong, but in this place, noodles are topped with countless shrimps. Good choice with HK$37. The money higher than average is probably for the shrimps.

Ingredients: Mushrooms, chicken, green onion, garlic, soy sauce, sugar, salt.

Step 1

Slice the chicken into pieces.

Step 2

Soak the mushrooms in water for at least 20 minutes.

Slice up the mushrooms.

Boil the mushrooms for  2 minutes.

Step 3:

Slice the green onion and garlic.

Step 4

Quickly fry the Chickens with mushrooms. Add in soy sauce, sugar and salt. When nearly cooked, pour in adequate water till the mushrooms are  submerge. At the same time, start to boil the noodles. Wait for 15 minutes.

Step 5

Dress the mushroom and chicken stew on top of the noodles.

Another way of cooking noodles with sesame paste

 

 

 

Step 1:

Wash the dirt away from cowpeas carefully, chop up the cowpeas and boil them in a pot.

  1. Steamed the noodles for 10 minutes; don’t have to spend extra time to wait untill they are soften.
  2. Fish them out into a bowl.

Step 3:

  1. Dilute five spoons of sesame paste with drinking water.
  2. Prepare some spicy radishes as much as you want.
  3. Slice some green onion.

Step 4:Boil the noodles for 1 more minutes.

Step 5:Stir together the sesame paste, the vegetables and the noodles.READY!!!

Updates: I was told by my friends that it was not always as expensive as I experienced last time so I had a new try at noon.

Noon special set from 11:00-2:30. Buy beef noodles+selected vegetables+soft drink+dessert at HK$40.

Chinese herbal jelly served with honey. A traditional Chinese dessert that help to cure many seasonal diseases in summer.

The menu of noon special orders. They are far cheaper than the same dishes you may have at other time.

The wooden tables and chairs remind me all the good days back in mainland. Taiwan beef noodles. A very small bowl of noodles, which can only satisfy a girl, but cooked with ox bone soup.

                                                                                                                                        

Taiwan fried spicy chickend. Only sell at HK $10 in night market in Taipei. The price soured here in Hong Kong, but still it is tasty.

Ingredients: A bag of fried noodles (You can either buy it in the supermarket or make it yourself), 100/g lentils, 100/g beef, 2 pieces of garlic, 1 or 2 spoons of soy sauce.

Step 1

Get prepared:

Cut the lentils into half, slice the beef

  1. Add two spoons of oil and garlic into the pan.
  2. Add in beef  and stir with the garlic till they look darker.

  1. Add in lentils, quickly fry them, don’t make lentils stick to the pan.
  2. Add in soy sauce and salt.
  3. Add water till the lentils submerged.

Put the cover on the pan, wait for 10 minutes

  1. Put the noodles into the stew, stir them.
  2. Put on the cover agian, waiting for 5 minutes.

The prices of rice noodles are around HK $30-40, similar with other Thai restuarant in Kowloon City. While, costomers can enjoy more than 15 kinds of noodles options in a cozy environment with soft cotton cushion.

Different chilli choices

Stirred Phnom Penh rice noodles. It was cooked with much sugar, obviously moderated for Hong Konger's taste.

Spicy rice noodles with seafood. Extra chilli is needed for spicy food lover.
